Alex Kime Poetry and Advocacy Journey.

Alex Kime, a writer, educator, and lecturer from Ann Arbor, Michigan, has achieved significant recognition in poetry. They won the 2019 Michael R. Gutterman Award and received Highest Honors in Creative Writing & Literature for their manuscript "trans-corporeality" in 2017. Additionally, Alex placed second in the 2017 Current Magazine poetry contest and won the 2015 Jeffrey L. Weisberg Memorial Prize in Poetry. Holding a Master's in Social Work from the University of Michigan, Alex co-authored a chapter in "Social Work and Healthcare with Trans and Nonbinary Individuals and Communities." Their poetry has been featured in various publications and anthologies, including Current Magazine and "Uncommon Core: Contemporary Poems for Learning and Living.
